Dinosaurs Return

Did you think you would ever see or hear dinosaurs... return to the Lakes Region of New Hampshire?

This summer you will! From July 1 through November 1, five dinosaurs will be on display on the Science Center's live animal exhibit trail. These spectacular, gigantic, animatronic creatures look, move, and sound like the real thing! The dinosaur exhibit is included in your regular trail admission.

• Where: Located in the natural setting of the live animal exhibit trail.
• Fee: Dinosaurs Return is included with your regular trail admission (admission is free for members)
• Time: Plan at least two hours to walk the three-quarter mile live animal exhibit trail.
• What to Expect: Dinosaurs are life size and realistic in appearance. They move and roar.

What Dinosaurs Will You See?

Allosaurus

Name means "Different Lizard" because it has vertebrae that were different than those of other dinosaurs.

Baryonyx

Could walk on all fours or just on its two hind legs (front legs were shorter but not by much.)

Diabloceratops

The genus name combines the Spanish word Diablo, meaning "devil", a reference to the horns on the neck shield, with the Latinised Greek word ceratops, meaning "horned face", a usual element in ceratopsian names.

Dimetrodon

Had a spiny sail along its back used for mating rituals, thermoregulation, and to make the Dimetrodon appear larger than actual size to predators.

Parasaurolophus

The head crest of the Parasaurolophus was used to make sounds, enhance the sense of smell, and/or mating displays. This dinosaur wil be just outside of the Admissions area at the Science Center and can be climbed upon.
