For nearly 60 years, Squam Lakes Natural Science Center has enlightened visitors through live animal exhibits, natural science education programs, guided Squam Lake Cruises, an informal public garden, and Blue Heron School, a nature-based Montessori early learning center. Today it is a top attraction in New Hampshire.

Business partnerships and support play a vital role in allowing Squam Lakes Natural Science Center to continue advancing an understanding of ecology by exploring New Hampshire’s natural world. The Science Center offers several ways to become involved, including membership, sponsorship, volunteer opportunities, and philanthropic giving. With over 65,000 annual trail visitors and nearly 9,000 lake cruise visitors, aligning with the Science Center provides companies a unique, engaging, and meaningful way to reach potential customers and positively impact the community. Great nature trail for kids. You can see approximately 10 animals in the trail for about 1 hour. A lot of educational resources in the exhibit. Additionally, there’s friendly crew.

We absolutely love coming here when we visit family on the lake! Such a beautiful walk and so much local wildlife to see! We all had a blast!

Great educational facility. Fun and educational for all ages. Very much enjoyed the sub-canopy boardwalk peppered with stations featuring different animals and ecosystems of the surrounding area. There are educational presentations with live animals as well as an otter exhibit. A few times a week, the otters are fed a "fishsicle" and it is amusing to watch them try and get their snacks. Didn't visit gift shop or go for a cruise. That's the great thing about this place, one can come back again and again and have a different experience. Locals or regular visitors to the region can purchase a membership and come and go. There is a nice picnic area and food during the summer season. It was not busy the day we visited, but I could see it being a lot busier. Educational, interesting AND shady.
