Great time! Geared for the whole family. Three trails with the exhibit trail available to wheelchairs. The Eco trail is more heavy duty stroller while the mountain trail is for hiking. Non computer interactive and educational exhibts. Friendly staff. Easy access to river rides.
Years ago I visited and the animals were more active. Most animals were resting. I don't blame them. Even the bird feeders were quiet.
Dinosaurs Alive! exhibit was a nice addition. I hope they come back.
Staff friendly. I recommend a visit!
Beautiful day at SLNSC! Loved the new zip swing and Raptor Exibit! The otters were adorable as usual and the deer were as friendly as ever! 😀
Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is a wonderful place for kids and adults alike. The animals are amazing and they are all rehabilitated from either injuries or abandonment at a young age. The atmosphere of this place is great and I highly recommend going and becoming a member to support all of their community efforts and animals!
This nature preserve is one or the most important places in the State, or the country. Inventive, entertaining exhibits are sprinkled liberally in between live wild animals (all rescues that would otherwise die or fair poorly). Plenty of playground installations for the Rugrats to wear themselves out on. Every parent who can must take their children as often as possible so that the messages about nature and the environment have a chance to get across and be heard and understood. There are dozens of nature and wildlife live presentations every week. This is truly a national treasure.
At only $22 for an adult, this place was incredible for its modest size. The staff was very quick to service and friendly. The park and the restrooms all appeared to be very clean as well. I will say it is very heavily directed at children for a learning experience. But I absolutely love that honestly. If you are in to nature and conservation then you know that teaching the children about these wonderful animals and ecosystems is the key to sustaining them for generations to come. The exhibits were very straightforward and the educational aspects were presented in fun ways ranging from buttons to highlight points of interest, buttons to play the different sounds of similar animals, and many sliding/rotating levers to reveal fun facts and differences between photos/items on display. Loved everything about this place, and next time I'm in New Hampshire, I will definitely be returning!
