Bobcat Exhibit

Bobcats are New Hampshire’s only wild cat and get their name from their short, “bobbed” tail. Adults weigh 15–25 pounds and can live up to 14 years. As predators, bobcats help keep prey populations healthy by removing sick and injured animals, preventing overgrazing and habitat damage. Watch live bobcats up close and learn what they eat, who preys on them, and how they fit into New Hampshire’s forests. Our female bobcat was confiscated after being kept as a pet, and our male arrived after being orphaned and illegally raised as a pet.
