The rain on the days prior to the BioBlitz brought up a good variety of fungi.

Male American Kestrel. The Science Center launched a new Kestrel Education and Conservation project in 2008

100 metal mailboxes were donated by the Solar Group (part of Gibraltar Industries) and have been turned into Kestrel nesting boxes

In January 2008 we installed a Osprey nesting pole at the Science Center

NH Electric Coop generously donated equipment and manpower

The huge man-made nest was bolted to a 60-foot utility pole donated by NH Electric Coop

The pole, with nest attached was hoisted into place

Now we wait to see if any Ospreys choose our nest

All this effort was triggered by this pair of Ospreys which tried to nest on a pole (with live wires) on the shore of the lake in 2007
